Summer 2014 Circle of Iron BJJ Championships – Official Results
First and foremost we would like to thank everyone that fought, watched, helped out, and supported our latest tournament! This summer championship was our second biggest tournament yet in terms of the number of competitors, but it was by far our best one! We made a number of changes since our spring championships this year, and all of those changes seemed to go a long way to ensuring this tournament ran as smoothly as it did.
In looking back through all of the video, pictures, and results from this tournament we cannot help but notice the level of talent that was present. All schools that competed did an excellent job preparing their students for the tournament and the competitors themselves, definitely laid it all on the line…which ultimately is what it is all about. Win or lose everyone that stepped foot on those mats did something that few would ever dream of and everyone certainly has our deepest respect.
We would also like to thank all of the parents, grandparents, spouses and everyone else that encouraged our competitors to train and compete. As our head referee Master Scott Thompson always says, “There are a lot of other things that we can all be doing, but our commitment to learning and practicing Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is truly remarkable and at many times requires sacrifice not only by the student but also by those that support them. However this sacrifice will ultimately result in every student being better as individuals.”
We wish you all the best of luck in your training and your future competitions. Our next event will be in January of 2015 and we hope to see you all there.
Until then… See you on the mats!
